About Tysons Station

Tysons Metro station opened on July 26, 2014, as part of the Silver Line Phase 1 extension — and it immediately became one of the most celebrated transit-retail connections in the Washington region. The station is directly integrated with Tysons Corner Center, one of the busiest shopping malls on the East Coast, with over 300 stores, multiple anchor department stores, and an IMAX theater. Riders step off the train and directly into the mall — no outdoor walking required.

Tysons Corner Center draws millions of visitors annually and is anchored by Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Macy's, and Lord & Taylor (now Restoration Hardware). The mall also contains a wide range of restaurants and a diverse retail mix that spans luxury to mid-market. The Silver Line made this destination car-free accessible from all of DC and Northern Virginia for the first time.

🛍 The Tysons station is one of a handful of Metro stations in the system with a true indoor, weather-protected connection to a major retail destination. You exit the fare gates and step directly into the mall concourse.

Beyond the mall, the broader Tysons area includes dozens of office towers, corporate headquarters, and residential high-rises that have grown up around the Silver Line corridor since 2014. The Tysons station sits at the geographic center of this urban redevelopment effort.
