About Largo Town Center Station
Largo Town Center opened on December 18, 2004, as the eastern terminus of the Blue Line's extension into Prince George's County — the same day as the adjacent Morgan Boulevard station. It serves as the end-of-line station for both the Blue Line and, since the Silver Line's opening in 2014, the Silver Line as well. All trains on both lines either originate from or terminate at Largo Town Center when heading east.
As a terminus station, Largo Town Center was designed for high passenger volume. It features one of the largest Park & Ride facilities in the WMATA system, with several thousand surface and garage spaces spread across the station property. The bus loop is expansive, accommodating numerous Metrobus routes and TheBus lines that fan out across southeastern Prince George's County into Upper Marlboro, Bowie, Oxon Hill, and beyond.
The surrounding area has seen considerable transit-oriented development since the station opened. The Largo Town Center mall is a short walk to the north, and a growing cluster of apartments, hotels, medical offices, and retail has taken shape along the Arena Drive corridor directly adjacent to the station. Arriving before 8:00 AM gives you the best chance of finding a surface spot closest to the entrance. Later arrivals will find overflow spaces farther out. - The bus loop at Largo Town Center is the primary hub for Metrobus and Prince George's County TheBus routes serving the Largo, Bowie, Upper Marlboro, Oxon Hill, and National Harbor areas. If you are connecting from a bus, confirm your route at the bus bay signs or via the Transit app — several routes share similar stop locations at the loop.
- As a terminus station, all Blue and Silver Line trains at Largo Town Center need time to reverse direction between runs. When you arrive eastbound, wait for the doors to open — the train will sit for a few minutes before beginning its westbound run. There is no need to rush off the platform. Trains depart on the same center-island platform, just in the opposite direction.
- Riders connecting from the Silver Line to visit FedEx Field on Commanders game days should ride to Largo Town Center and transfer, then take the Blue Line one stop west to Morgan Boulevard — or just stay on the Silver Line one stop west, as Silver Line trains also stop at Morgan Boulevard heading toward Ashburn.
