About New Carrollton Station
New Carrollton opened on November 20, 1977, as the eastern terminus of the original Metro system. It serves as the endpoint for both the Orange and Silver lines, and is one of the most important intermodal transit hubs in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The station connects Metrorail, MARC Penn Line commuter rail, Amtrak, and a large network of Metrobus and Prince George's County bus routes.
