About Rosslyn Station
Rosslyn station is a major three-line hub on the Virginia side of the Potomac River, serving the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines. It is located at the heart of Rosslyn — Arlington's high-density urban core — and is one of the most heavily used stations in the system due to its role as a crossover point between Virginia and Washington DC.
The station is the closest Metro stop to Georgetown, connected via the Key Bridge pedestrian and cyclist crossing over the Potomac River — approximately a 15-minute walk from the station to Georgetown's M Street and Wisconsin Avenue commercial corridors. Since Georgetown has no Metro station of its own, Rosslyn serves as its de facto transit hub.
Rosslyn features some of the deepest platforms in the Metro system, accessible via long escalators — a testament to the station's location beneath the Potomac River bedrock. The surrounding Rosslyn high-rise district hosts major defense contractors, law firms, and government agencies.
