About Benning Road Station
Benning Road opened on November 22, 1980, as part of the Blue Line's eastward extension into DC's Ward 7, together with the Capitol Heights and Addison Road stations. It sits along the Benning Road corridor — one of Northeast DC's main commercial arteries — and is the first station east of Stadium-Armory heading toward the Maryland border. The station primarily serves the Benning Road and Lincoln Heights neighborhoods.
